Advice for Codsall Businesses & residents
This page is to advise you of the arrangements for this year’s Codsall Christmas Fair
The event date this year is Friday 6 December 2019.
Over the past four years, the event has proved to be incredibly popular with live music, street entertainment, fairground rides, plenty of hot food and drinks and stalls selling a wide range of Christmas gifts, decorations and local produce and, of course, our traditional carols around the Christmas Tree featuring local school choirs.
Codsall Christmas Fair 2019 will again be located in the village centre with the fairground on The Crown car park, bouncy castles at The Bull and the Christmas carols around the Christmas tree in Station Road
The road closures will be from 2pm to 9.30pm and will affect:
Station Road: Between the Square and Compton Hospice / Blunts Shoe Shop
Wolverhampton Road: Between the Square and Mount Gardens / entrance to Bakers Way car parks
Wood Road: Between the Square and the bus turning lane, opposite the Legionnaires Club
There will be no vehicle access to The Crown car park throughout the day or The Bull car park after 2pm.
The road closures will leave unrestricted access to and from Wilkes Road, Bakers Way, Mount Gardens and the remainder of Wood Road, Wolverhampton Road and Station Road. The Co-op and Legionnaires Club / Pet Stop car parks and the two Bakers Way car parks will be unaffected.
Although businesses and most residents in Station Road and Wolverhampton Road have access to the rear of their premises, we do recognise that residents of Kenmare House in Station Road and the businesses in the closed portion of Wood Road will not be able to bring vehicles in or out during the event. We would therefore suggest that if you are likely to need a vehicle, you may wish to leave it on one of the village car parks outside the Event Area until the end of the event. Similarly, if businesses in Wood Road are expecting deliveries or collections, please advise all parties that they will not have access to Wood Road during the Event. Our apologies for any inconvenience but it is a very good cause.
For residents of The House by the Square in Wood Road, the barriers will be positioned so that you will still have unrestricted access to your car park at the rear of the building but please drive carefully as there may be pedestrians in the street, many of whom will be children.
To the residents of Wheel Avenue and Wilkes Road, we recognise that you have a right to park outside your homes but as these roads will be a temporary route for through traffic, if you have the option to park on your driveways, or elsewhere in the immediate area, just for the few hours whilst the Christmas Fair is on, this would be very much appreciated. Many thanks for your kind understanding.
We do hope you will come and enjoy the event. We hope it will again be a great success and a suitable start to the festive season. If you have any questions, please call Lewis Stovin on 07785 771404 or Megan Barrow on 07702 310939 or send an email to email@example.com.
